The painting was a backdrop for a speech given in Liberia by Secretary of State Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton in 2013 during the ambassadorship of Linda Thomas Greenfield ( Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs of the United States (2013–2017); appointed UN Ambassador to the US in 2021.
The painting depicts a child bathed on a Saturday evening in the backyard. A typical activity before the 1950s in the south.
